Dress Form

I'm thinking it's time for me to invest in one of these.  I want an adjustable dress form so I can use it for when I'm sewing for other people too.  And I found this kit called Fabulous Fit that looks like it would be helpful too.
Do you have a dress form?  Do you have a recommendation for what one I should get?

I have a dress form, very similar to the one you have pictured, a Singer, but red where in place of the grey. It cost me around $150 and I find it to be quite flimsy. It's easy to tip it over (the stand is hollow metal with I think a three prong foot system). The body is hard plastic covered in that felt/polyester type material. It's easy to pin onto but I rarely use it on the stand, instead putting it on a table top, which is difficult if working with a dress.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Eva Girl, I do have a dress form, it was made with duct tape and stuffing. I think is was about 20-25 dollars in material. I do like it. This is the youtube video I used to make it. Just a thought for you.

Oh yes! I watched that video and it looks like a great idea for making dresses for myself. But, I also want an adjustable dress form for when I'm sewing for friends too. I would want something sturdy and on a heavy stand...maybe the vintage dress forms are an option?

Grandma Grace had one. I don't remember her actually using it. It was in the attic and it was black, I think. I've always thought that having a dress form would be good. I don't sew enough to make it worthwhile, in my mind. A friend of ours (and your parents) has one that she used to sew for renaissance fair goers. Perhaps she could give some insight. :)
